Indexing

I work as an Index and Reference Officer for the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, which means I get to index all day long.

I am also the co-president of the Indexing Society of Canada. I have also been the conference chair for the ISC/SCI conference in 2024, the programming chair for the ISC/SCI conferences in 2021 and 2022, and the co-rep for the Ontario/Central region from November 2022 – June 2023.

Bibliography

Mindful MD is my latest indexing masterpiece.

I indexed this cookbook: Newfoundland’s Best Breakfasts and Brunch.

And this cookbook, too: Fresh, Local and Delicious.

I was one of the indexers for educational materials published by the Insurance Institute.

I created the index for Cross-Border Solidarities in Twenty-First Century Contexts.

I wrote an index for my mum’s “Labbook Cookbook”—a collection of recipe cards and magazine clippings she’s been amassing in an old lab notebook for 40+ years. See it below:

Education

I took indexing & abstracting at Simmons College while I was completing a Master’s in Library and Information Science.

I later completed the indexing course at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson).
